CAS provides research services, (co-)develops research projects, and supports research capacity building. 

Research services can consist of:

  •  
 research assistance
  •  
 providing research-based consultancy services
  •  
 conducting contract research
  •  
 being the Local Research Institute for a foreign research partner
  •  
 being the research partner of a local research network partner
  •  
 being the research partner of an (I)NGO, donor organization, or local academic organization


Strengthening social science research infrastructure and research capacity building is a major objective of CAS. The following activities contribute towards fulfilling that objective:

 on-the-job research training of junior researchers
  •  
 supervision of RUPP students’ theses
  •  
 management of research capacity building programs
